CONSULTATION

with you every step of the way

INITIAL CONSULTATION

The initial consultation offers time to discuss psychotherapy and how it might help you.

Up to an hour and a half is allowed for that first appointment to allow time to talk about the current problem or reasons for coming.

Relationships, social and work situations as well as past experiences including childhood will also be explored. A referral to an organisation or another type of therapy can be made if that is more appropriate.

PSYCHOTHERAPY

If it is decided to continue with psychotherapy, we will come to a decision about whether that will be on a once weekly basis or more frequently, depending upon the degree of anxiety or depth of the problem.

Appointments are made for a regular day and time and last for 50 minutes.

BRIEF THERAPY

Sometimes it can be desirable to focus on a particular issue if other areas in life are manageable. The minimum number of sessions would be six weekly although up to six months might also be arranged if necessary.

WORKING HOURS

Carol's working hours range between 8.00am and 8.00pm during certain weekdays. She does not work at weekends. After the Initial consultation, appointments may be offered on a once, twice or three times weekly basis depending on the individual's need.

Appointments are usually made for the same days and times each week.  All appointments are for 50 minutes duration and Carol offers them on a once, twice or three times weekly basis, depending on the individual's need. Appointments are usually made for the same days and times each week.

THERAPY FEES

The fee is £50 per session.  A lower fee may be negotiated under certain circumstances.

Carol does not charge for her holidays or breaks but she keeps the time open during clients' holidays and charges for missed sessions.
